Katie Zucker & Jamie Raab

How many years have you been an AFC Ann Arbor member? This will be our 2nd year as a member!

Who do you come to the games with typically? Each other!

Who is your favorite AFC Ann Arbor player? Why? Our favorite players are TJ—we like how he communicates with his defense about what he is seeing develop and the big saves he makes every game, Yuri—for his ability to turn any play into a scoring opportunity, and Hector—for his playing style and ease at moving the ball up the field.

Why is AFC Ann Arbor so special to you? What do you love most about the club? There are so many things to love about AFC Ann Arbor: the talented team, the coaching staff that stays classy and poised in high pressure games, the team camaraderie, the local community feel, the way the owners make everyone feel part of the family, and the respect and love the entire organization has for the game of soccer.

It is special for both of us because it has given us something to look forward to every week. Katie has been undergoing intensive antibiotic treatment for Chronic Lyme Disease and there have been some times where seeing AFCAA play (home or away) is the only activity Katie has managed to do all week. Being able to get out of the house and spend time with Jamie watching the team play and being a part of the team’s fan base has been so helpful. And Jamie has enjoyed sharing these special times with Katie and learning more about the game of soccer.

How does it make you feel knowing you're helping build something from the ground up? Jamie works for Bank of Ann Arbor and in AFCAA’s 2nd year she invited Katie to come watch soccer shortly after Katie was diagnosed with Lyme. We both just fell in love with the team. And supporting Jamie’s employer as a sponsor of the team is an added bonus for us as well.

What is your most memorable AFC Ann Arbor moment? Seeing AFCAA clinch the club's first playoff spot in Kalamazoo is definitely our favorite memory. It was so cool how the whole team came running over after the final whistle and started celebrating right in front of the fans that traveled to the game. We were just so happy we were there to witness that! Last year beating DCFC in Hamtramck is up there too. The determination and grit the guys had during that game was outstanding.
